Nursing Study in New Zealand:

Requirements to do nursing study in New Zealand:
  • Student with +2 Certificate: Should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their main subject with atleast 55%. IELTS Band Score should be 7 in each module. This makes the student eligible to study a 3-year Bachelor Program in Nursing in order to pursue Nursing Study in New Zealand. After this they are able to enrol themselves as Registered Nurse to do nursing work in New Zealand.
  • Student with Bachelor Degree in Nursing: The students who’ve completed their Bachelor Degree in Nursing in India but have 6.5 each in IELTS will be needed to pursue their Bachelor in Nursing again in New Zealand but will get credits which will help them to complete their 3 years degree in 1.5 to 2 years.
  • Student with Bachelor Degree in Nursing: The students who’ve completed their Bachelor Degree in Nursing in India but have 7 each in IELTS will be directly able to enrol themselves into CAP program to do nursing work in New Zealand.

Nursing Work in New Zealand:

Study CAP program- Competency Assessment Program for 8 to 12 weeks and obtain nursing registration in New Zealand. How to obtain nursing registration in New Zealand if you are an internationally qualified nurse? The compulsory requirements to do nursing work in New Zealand are as below:
  • You must have a recognised degree in nursing
  • You must be a registered nurse.
  • You must have relevant experience
  • You must have academic IELTS band score of 7 in each of the four modules or OET with B band in each section.
In case of 6.5 band score in each module in IELTS and you’ve completed your Bachelor Program in Nursing then get credits and complete your New Zealand Bachelor of Nursing in 1.5 to 2 years. The Process to do nursing work in New Zealand:
  • Meet the Nursing council of New Zealand initial criteria
  • Get written notification from nursing council to complete Competency assessment program
  • Enrol in a CAP program with an eligible provider in New Zealand.
  • Apply for occupational registration visa with Immigration New Zealand.
  • Complete you CAP program
  • Apply to nursing council of New Zealand for registered nurse practicing certificate.
