General admission requirements for US Study visa
Associate degrees
Associate degrees are of 2 years. Community colleges typically provide two-year undergraduate programmes. After that, the student is awarded an Associate Degree, such as an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science. An associate degree typically requires 60 credit hours to accomplish.
For admission into an associate degree students need at least 50 % marks and a IELTS band score of 5.5 or an equivalent TOEFL score
Bachelor’s degree
These are 4-Year Undergraduate Programmes for Study in USA. A Bachelors degree typically requires 120 credit hours to accomplish.
For admission into a Bachelors program students need to have at least 60% marks and IELTS band score of 6 or an equivalent TOEFL score. Students may also need a SAT score
Masters degree
A Masters program at a university in the United States usually lasts 1.5 to 2 years.
For admission into a Master program students need to have at least 60 % marks and IELTS band score of 6 or an equivalent TOEFL score. Students may also need a GRE or a GMAT score 2 to 3 letters of recommendation and Statement of Purpose may also be a admission requirement
Doctoral degree
Doctoral studies involve three stages of academic work- course work which is followed by exams, research, and writing the dissertation and then delivery of the dissertation, which in total can take anywhere from four to eight years.
Students need to have good grades and good English language ability level that is IELTS 7 or an equivalent TOEFL score. GRE score is required. Good reference letters and a sincere personal statement form an essential part of the admission application
