Good news for both employers in New Zealand and skilled worker overseas with newly launched New Zealand Employer Accredited work visa.  As per the current Accredited Employer policies would be closed by 30th June giving way to New Accredited Work Visa (AEWV) to be introduced by 1 November 2021. This would replace 6 existing temporary work visa categories. Under the new policy change New Zealand employers who require recruiting skilled overseas workers regularly can now apply to be accredited. Once you are an accredited employer, the process of employing overseas talent would be easier for both employers and migrants.

An accredited employer would not have to prove that suitable New Zealander is available to fill position. Further, ensuring you can easily employ a skilled migrant from overseas without having to go through Labor market testing requirements. Employers who wish to be accredited need to submit an application to employ persons under the Talent (Accredited Employers) work policy approved INZ. A registered employer would be required to pay a minimum base salary of NZD $79,560. Also, the employ would be required to obtain a work visa. An accredited employer work visa would offer temporary visa for 30 months and also residency pathway post 24 months.

Requirements for New Zealand Accredited Employer Work Visa 2021

For Accredited employer following requirements need to be met:

  1. Is in a sound financial position to determine if the employment is sustainable.
  2. Has human resource policies and processes which are of a high standard.
  3. Has a demonstrable commitment to training and employing New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders.
  4. Has a good workplace practice, including a history of compliance with all immigration and employment New Zealand laws.

New Zealand Accredited Employer Work Visa 2021 Validity

Once granted New Zealand Accredited Employer work visa, initial accreditation would be valid for 12 months. Accreditation renewals are granted for 24 months. For franchises and labor hire companies it would be 12 months.
