 Description:

While doing bachelor, you will learn skills and knowledge in accounting management with this qualification.

In the first year of degree you will learn skills in core business planning that include: accounting, business communication, commercial law, business heritage, culture and sustainability, marketing, computing, management and applied research.

You will learn accounting specialisation in the second and third years, while preparing for an accounting position. Core subjects include:

  • Intermediate Financial Accounting – Includes details of the regulatory and technical ideas of accounting and external reporting and evaluating methods.
  • Intermediate Management Accounting – Covers the techniques and data needed for planning, control and decision making.
  • Taxation in New Zealand – Includes knowledge of taxation rules and compliance.
  • Advanced Financial Accounting – Preparation of financial statements to make sure compliance with generally accepted accounting practice.
  • Advanced Management Accounting – Examines sourcing and evaluating accounting information related to organisational success.
  • Cooperative Education Project – With this you will work within a business environment applying your learning for a minimum of 400 hours.

    Course Structure:

    You are required to complete a minimum total of 360 credits.

    Career Outcomes:

    This will provide you with accounting position in a variety of business environments. You will work well into a dedicated accounting firm.  Further opportunities could include positions in the public, private and not for profit sectors in accounting roles.

    Further Study Options:

    You can continue to study for the CPA Australia Professional accreditation or the professional pathway of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and ACCA to become an accountancy professional.

    Eligibility criteria

    Academic eligibility:

    Student must have completed 10+2 in any stream.

    English language proficiency score:

    1. IELTS score of 6.0 with no less than 6.0

    SPEAKING- 6.0

    READING – 6.0

    WRITING – 6.0

    LISTENING – 6.0

    1. TOEFL Score of 70 is required (21 in writing)
    2. PTE required score is 54
