You must be enrolled in a designated learning institute that is DLI. A DLI is a school which is authorised to recruit international students. It is mandatory to have an acceptance letter from a DLI – designated learning institute.

Funds for tuition fee
The second condition to apply for Canada student visa is that you must have enough funds for your tuition fees. You must satisfy this condition for your visa application to be successful. The requirement is to have financial proofs for the complete duration of your course of study in Canada.

Funds for Cost of living and travel expense
Along with having money to pay for your tuition fee you must also have enough funds to support your cost of living while in Canada. You must also have access to travel expensed for Canada. The required amount is of Canadian dollars ten thousand per year as cost of living.

You must be of good character
This is another condition you need to meet as a part of the application process. You must be of good character and have no criminal record. To prove that you are enrolled in a DLI in Canada to study a course you may attach the offer letter and acceptance letter with your application. Your college would provide you with the Letter of Acceptance that is LOA. This LOA would mention the details about the course, duration of the course, any prepaid tuition fee, the DLI number etc. This LOA would be the evidence of your enrolment in a DLI.

Students must also attach the receipt of the tuition fee they may have paid to their DLI. This would be evidence that you have funds for your study in Canada. If the course duration is of one year then the payment of full one year of tuition fee receipt would be the evidence. If the duration of the course is for more than 1 year let’s say two years then applicants may attach bank statement having amount equivalent to remaining tuition fee as an evidence that they have enough funds to pay for their tuition fee

As a proof that the students have their cost of living the students may purchase a GIC. If the course duration of your study in Canada is of one year then the Guaranteed Income Certificate of Canadian dollars ten thousand is an excellent way to prove that you have the required finances to support your cost of living in Canada. If the course duration is more than one year let’s suppose of two years than along with having a Guaranteed Income Certificate of Canadian dollars ten thousand applicants may attach bank statement having amount equivalent to cost of living of subsequent year of study as an evidence that they have enough funds for their living expense in Canada.
