Description:

The University of Canterbury offers the masters in Civil Engineering as research degree which includes a thesis with coursework. It provided in a learning environment where students develop skills to solve problems by doing research which is totally in the supervision. Civil Engineering is sheer work of responsibility where your priority is the lives of people and nature. The graduates learn to manage, design, construct various infrastructures keeping the key points in their mind like safety, environment, sustainability etc.

ME students can complete in 16 months or a maximum of three years full-time.

Career Outcomes:

Graduates are employed by consultants (who design and manage), contractors (who build and maintain) or central, regional and local government (who develop and manage the infrastructure of countries, cities and communities). Many civil engineers become experts in a specialised area of civil engineering such as structural, water, geotechnical, transportation, fire or environmental fields.

Eligibility Criteria:

Academic

Students should have hons degree either in Bachelor of Engineering or Sciences. Those who have Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering may also apply for ME in Civil Engineering at The University of Canterbury.

 English Proficiency Score

  1. IELTS Overall band Score 6.5, not less than 6.0 in each band;
  2. TOEFL (iBT) total minimum score of 90, minimum score of 19 in reading, writing and listening;
  3. TOEFL PBT with a minimum score of 575
  4. Pearson Test of English (Academic) – PTE with an overall score of 58 and no PTE communicative skills score below 50
