SIT’s Bachelor of Fashion (Design and Technology) focuses on both of the creative and technical aspects of the fashion line, from the development of concept and developing the design through till the production. The theoretical areas provide students the opportunity to build their understanding of the socio-cultural influence upon the fashion and to widen their ability to work through the process of developing the designs. While, the practical areas will allow the students to use their skills with which they can develop the concepts in the form of 3D outcomes. Students will learn the ways how design thinking and realisation works. Both practical and theoretical knowledge is essential to bring up the skills to sustain in the fashion industry successfully.

In the first two years, the programme allow students to have in depth understanding of the design-development process, discerning the fashion trends from cultural perspective, 2D imagery exploring and building their capacity of pattern development and garment formation for a diverse selection of garment types. The third year is an opportunistic year for students in which they develop skills in order to work on the professional sector of this area.

Students have complete access to fully automatic sewing machines industry based and computer programmes and hardware used for computer-aided pattern-making. Professional exposure is also gained through the fashion shows conducted, competitions and SIT Fashion – central city fashion shop.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Academic

    Applicants must have completed their 10+2 and along with the portfolio to represent their creativity and skills in this field.

    English language Proficiency

    1. IELTS test – Academic score of 6 with no band less than 5.5
    2. TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) – Score of 550 (with an essay score 5 TWE)
    3. TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) – Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18)
    4. Pearson Test of English (Academic) – PTE (Academic) score of 50
