Toi-Ohomai history stems from when Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga and Waiariki Institute of Technology in Rotorua were founded in 1982 and 1881, respectively. In 2016, the amalgamation of these two famous Polytechnic and Institute of Technology has lead to the emergence of the third largest Institute of Technology and Polytechnic in New Zealand, eventually was named as TOI OHOMAI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.
The name of this insti means “to aim high and achieve great heights; to be awakened by learning”. This name was given by a local kiwi by which it keeps it culture intact and inspires other International students coming to study in New Zealand.
It has 86 delivery sites with 200 study options for the students. Rotorua and Tauranga are the main campuses which welcomes the International Students to study in New Zealand in their Institute.
