Business Innovation and Investment Visa Subclass 188 is valid for individuals who want to own and manage an existing or new business in Australia. You must be nominated by territory government or state or Australian agency and needs to be invited by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection. You are suppose to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and needs to be nominated by a state or territory government on the behalf of the Australian government before you are being invited for the visa.
What this Visa lets you do?
This visa lets you establish a new or develop an existing business. You can also invest in Australia and make a designated investment with an Australian territory or state. You are also eligible to travel inside and outside Australia within the life of your visa. You can also bring your family members along with you to Australia and seek permanent residence by applying for a Business Innovation and Investment permanent visa.
Common Criteria to meet:-
- Applicants who are applying for the visa must be nominated by a state or territory government.
- You must get invitation to apply through SkillSelect.
- You must be 55 years of age
- You must be able to meet pass marks in business innovation and investment
- You must have a successful career in business or investment
The four streams included in the visa are:-
Business Innovation stream: – This stream is meant for those people who have got business skills and want to establish, develop or manage a new business in Australia. Applicants applying for this visa must be nominated by the state or territory government.
Investor Stream– This stream is meant for those business professionals who want to make a designated investment of AUD 1.5 million in an Australian State or territory. Applicants applying for this visa must be nominated by a state or territory government.
Significant Investor Stream– This stream of visa is meant for those individuals who are willing to invest at least AUD 5 million into significant investments in Australia. These applicants must be nominated by a state or territory government or Austrade on the behalf of the Australian government.
Premium Investor Stream– Business professionals who are willing to invest at least AUD 15 million into premium investments in Australia fall under this visa stream. Applicants must be nominated by Austrade on behalf of the Australian government.
